PROSVETOV EARNS CALL-UP TO COYOTES

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, are proud to announce that rookie goaltender Ivan Prosvetov has earned an NHL call-up to the Coyotes.

Prosvetov becomes the fifth player in Rapid City Rush history to reach the NHL level. He joins goaltenders Marek Langhamer and Adin Hill, forward Michael Bunting, and defenseman Dakota Mermis, who also made their NHL debuts with the Coyotes.

Prosvetov came to the Rush earlier this season and appeared in five games, posting a 4-1-0-0 record with his first professional shutout, a 2.40 GAA and .930 SV%. He carried this success to the AHL level with the Tucson Roadrunners, registering an 11-3-0 record with an additional shutout, a 2.38 GAA and .931 SV%.  At the AHL level, Prosvetov earned his first professional win in his debut on October 19 against San Antonio. Additionally, he won seven consecutive starts from November 2nd at Stockton to December 21st against Ontario.

A native of Moscow, Russia, Prosvetov turned professional following a lone season in the OHL with the Saginaw Spirit. With the Spirit in 2018-19, he recorded a 36-11-1 record in 53 games with 4 shutouts, a 2.94 GAA and .910 SV%. For his efforts, Prosvetov was named to the OHL’s Third All-Star Team. Additionally, he spent one season in the USHL with the Youngstown Phantoms (36gp, 19-9-1, 2.90 GAA, .913 SV%), and one season in the NAHL with the Minnesota Magicians (44gp, 21-15-3, 2.52 GAA, .928 SV%). Prosvetov was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2018 NHL Draft (4th Rd-#114).

The Rush conclude their “three-in-three” series against the Utah Grizzlies today, January 5th. Puck drop is slated for 1:10 p.m. MDT at the Maverik Center.

Following this weekend, the Rush will return to home ice to face the Cincinnati Cyclones for the first time ever in Rapid City on Wednesday, January 8th, Friday, January 10th, and Saturday, January 11th. Puck drop for all three contests is slated for 7:05 p.m. MDT. On January 11th, the Rush will host “Nickelodeon Night”, presented by Black Hills Energy, featuring specialty Paw Patrol themed jerseys. Additionally, the team will also celebrate the birthday of our lovable mascot, Nugget, and the first 1,000 fans will have the chance to take home a commemorative Nugget bobble head giveaway.
