Alex Lasky
Alex joined the Rush in July of 2022 and is in his second season with the team. He was born and raised in Jackson, Michigan and is a graduate of Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. While attending CMU, Alex played for the Chippewas D3 Hockey Club for five years. During that time, the team appeared in the national tournament four times. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sport Management and a minor in Multimedia Design. In his free time, Alex enjoys golfing, fishing, spending time with friends and playing with his cat, Lululemon.
Zach Nelson
Zach joined the front office in July 2023 after serving on Party Patrol during the 2022-23 season.
He was born and raised in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He attended Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota, where he competed on the cross country and track teams as a long-distance runner. He also spent two years as a student assistant coach for both teams while earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services-Criminal Justice Concentration.
Zach enjoys riding his motorcycle around the Black Hills, going to concerts, and kayaking.

Kayleigh Schmidt
Kayleigh joined the front office of the Rapid City Rush in March 2020. She previously served roles within the organization such as Director of Social & Creative Content, Manager of Community Relations & Social Engagement, In-Game Host and Rushette. Prior to making the jump into the hockey world, she worked for KOTA Territory News and KSFY (now Dakota News Now) in various jobs like morning anchor, producer, and multimedia journalist. Kayleigh was born in Willmar, Minnesota and had the opportunity to move around the country and overseas when her mother joined the Air Force. She ended up in Rapid City in 2006 and stuck around after her mother retired. She attended New Underwood High School for three years until moving to Stevens High School for her senior year. After graduation, Kayleigh attended South Dakota State University where she earned a B.S. in Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcast and a minor in Criminal Justice. She loves all things winter, horror films/books, animals, and Minnesota. The Rush, Washington Capitals, Minnesota Wild, Twins and Vikings tend to keep Kayleigh’s attention year-round, but she enjoys finding that perfect concert or hiking trail no matter the distance.
Drew Blevins
Drew is joining the Rush for his first season as Manager of Community Relations and Broadcasting. You’ll be able to catch him on the air for every Rush game this season.
Originally from Wake Forest, N.C., Drew is a proud graduate of N.C. State University. While at N.C. State, he was the play-by-play voice of the Wolfpack club hockey team in addition to covering NCAA division-I football, basketball, soccer, and softball.
After two seasons spent in the USPHL with the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes, Drew broke into the pro ranks with the FPHL’s Carolina Thunderbirds in 2019. Following a pair of seasons with the Thunderbirds in Winston-Salem, N.C., Drew was promoted to the SPHL and the Fayetteville Marksmen where he was the Director of Communication and Broadcasting the last two seasons.
Drew remains an avid fan of college football and his beloved Wolfpack. He is also a fan of the Atlanta Falcons and the New York Yankees. You’ll also catch him around the local golf course and with a rod in hand at a local fishing hole.
