(Rapid City, SD) – The Rapid City Rush announced today the signing of defenseman T.J. Miller and forward Levi Lind to the team’s active roster. Both players will be in the lineup in time for this weekend’s games against the Fort Wayne Komets. Tickets are still available for both games by calling 716-7825 or online at www.gotmine.com
Miller, 25, was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the 4th round, #107 overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and began this season with the Trenton Devils of the ECHL. In 22 games, the 6’4”, 220-pound defenseman totaled one goal and five assists to go along with six penalty minutes.
Prior to turning pro, the Placentia, California native played four years of NCAA hockey at Northern Michigan University. In 134 games with the Wildcats, Miller amassed 40 points (8g, 32a) and 117 penalty minutes.
Lind is making his first appearance at the ‘AA’ level after having played three seasons with the Columbus Cottonmouths of the SPHL. Lind was off the best start of his young career, having potted six goals and adding six assists through 14 games. Hailing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the 23 year-old brings a 6’3” 205-pound frame to the Rush offense.
Before joining the Cottonmouths, Lind skated for two seasons with the Melville Millionaires of the SJHL after playing his junior hockey with the Regina Pats of the WHL.
Just 15 games into the 2011-12 season, the Rush have been plagued by injuries and currently have seven players on the injured reserve.
