Rush Bolster Defense with a Trio of Signings

(Rapid City, SD) – The Rapid City Rush announced today signing of defensemen Gio Flamminio, Corey Laurysen and Scott Kalinchuk for the 2010-11 Central Hockey League season. The trio now brings the number of players signed for the upcoming Rush season to 16.

(Rapid City, SD) – Today, the Rapid City Rush are making noise with a pair of big signings for the 2010-11 season. The Rush welcome back last season’s CHL Rookie of the Year in goaltender Danny Battochio and also add defenseman Vladimir Hartinger who will serve as player-assistant for the upcoming season. The signing bring the 2010-11 Rush roster total to 13 players.

(Rapid City, SD) – The Rapid City Rush announced today that forward Erik Felde has signed on for the 2010-11 season. Last season was Felde’s first in the Central Hockey League (CHL), skating in 39 games for the Amarillo Gorillas.

The Rush will host the Arizona Sundogs on both Saturday, October 9th at 7:05pm and Sunday, October 10th at 6:05pm at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Ice Arena.

(Rapid City, SD) – The Rapid City Rush announced today the addition of Ryan Menei and Andrew Smale, bringing the number of signed players for the 2010-11 season to ten. Both players set career highs in points last season as Menei compiled over 50 while Smale collected 30 and represented the Amarillo Gorillas in the 2010 CHL All-Star Game. The duo marks the first new additions of the 2010 off-season for the Rush.

(Rapid City, SD) – The Rapid City Rush would like to invite fans to join Head Coach Joe Ferras for the first live chat of the 2010 off-season. The live chat with Coach Ferras will take place, Thursday, August 5 at 3 p.m. at www.rapidcityjournal.com. Ferras will field any and all questions concerning the Rush both on and off the ice, giving fans a unique perspective on the organization. Following the live chat, forward Rich Hansen will be featured on the Rush Report at 4 p.m. on the flagship station for the Rush, 100.3 FM the FOX. Less than a week ago, Hansen re-signed with the Rush and will enter his third season in the Black Hills.

TEMPE, AZ (August 4, 2010) – Central Hockey League (CHL) Commissioner Duane Lewis announced today that the league will recognize two historic figures for both the CHL and the International Hockey League (IHL) as the title names for the league’s two respective conferences for the 2010-11 season. The CHL announced on June 1 that they have affiliated with the IHL with five teams joining the CHL for the upcoming season (Bloomington, Dayton, Evansville, Fort Wayne and Quad City).
