Rush Celebrate the New Year and Complete Perfect Road Trip with Thrilling 6-5 Shootout Win Over Gorillas

(Amarillo, TX) – On New Year’s Eve, the Rapid City Rush and Amarillo Gorillas were in a back and forth battle in a game that went into extra time, with the Rush winning 6-5 in a shootout. For the second straight game, Jon Pelle scored two goals and posted three points while former Gorilla, Scott Wray led all players with a four-point effort and netted the game winner. The Rush picked up their 20th win of the season and 14th victory in the last 16 games.

(Rapid City, SD) – On Thursday afternoon, the Central Hockey League announced that Rush stars Les Reaney and Danny Battochio have been voted to the 2010 CHL All-Star Team. This will mark the first all-star nod for Reaney, a second-year pro, as well as rookie Danny Battochio. The CHL All-Stars will take on the South Texas All-Star Team on Wednesday, January 13th.

(Wichita, KS) – The Rapid City Rush remained perfect against the Wichita Thunder on Tuesday with a 4-2 victory in the last meeting between the two teams at the Kansas Coliseum. Jon Pelle scored two goals including the game winner and added an assist for a three point game to pace all skaters while Miguel Beaudry made 30 saves for his 10th win of the season. Rapid City is now 13-2-0 in their last fifteen and have won seven of their last eight road games. Through just 28 games, the Rush have now matched last season’s total of eight road victories.

(Rapid City, SD) - On Tuesday, the Rapid City Rush announced that the game against the Colorado Eagles, originally scheduled for Saturday, December 26has been rescheduled. The two teams will make up the game on February 28th at 7:05pm at the Budweiser Events Center. The original game was postponed due to inclement weather between Rapid City, SD and Loveland, CO.

(Loveland, CO) – On Sunday night, the Rapid City Rush stopped the Colorado Eagles winning streak at eight games with a 5-2 win at the Budweiser Events Center. Rapid City picked up their second-straight win in Loveland due in large part to their special teams play. The Rush tallied two powerplay goals on five chances while holding the Eagles scoreless on seven chances and netting a shorthanded goal.

(Rapid City, SD) - Late on Christmas Night, the CHL postponed its second game in the past 12 hours when it was determined that bad weather and impassable roads would make it impossible to play the Colorado Eagles/Rapid City Rush game scheduled for Saturday night in Colorado. Sunday's game is expected to be played as scheduled.

(Rapid City, SD) – On Tuesday night, the Rush and Eagles battled back and forth in a game that showcased the two potent offenses. Rapid City looked to end the Eagles winning streak, which now sits at 8, but came up short 6-5. Eagle goaltender Andrew Penner stopped 42 shots in the win while Rush netminder Miguel Beaudry made 29 saves on the night.

(Tulsa, OK) – A night after having their winning streak stopped at ten games, the Rapid City Rush bounced right back with a convincing 6-2 win over the Tulsa Oilers. The victory was the 200th for Rush Head Coach Joe Ferras. The win also marks the first of the season for the Rush at the BOK Center and their eleventh win in the last twelve contests. Rapid City received two-goal efforts from both Brendan Cook and Jon Pelle while Miguel Beaudry made 21 saves for his eighth win of the season. Rapid City is now 11-1-1 in their last thirteen contests.

(Southaven, MS) – The Rapid City Rush win streak was finally snapped on Friday night as the Mississippi RiverKings came away with a 4-3 win. The game featured a combined 64 penalty minutes and 17 powerplay chances.
