Scott Wray & Colt King Featured at Tonight’s “Rush Hour” Live At Boston’s at 6pm!

(Rapid City, SD) – The Rapid City Rush would like to invite fans out to Boston’s Restaurant and Sports Bar for “The Rush Hour with Head Coach Joe Ferras”.  This year’s hour-long show has been moved up to 6pm and will remain at Boston’s, located just North of I-90 off of N Lacrosse St.  Rush star forwards Scott Wray and Colt King will be joining Rush broadcaster Daniel Nieves and Head Coach Joe Ferras Monday, tonight, March 1st at 6pm.

LeBlanc’s Overtime Goal Clinches Rapid City’s First Playoff Berth With 3-2 Victory Over Eagles

(Rapid City, SD) – On Saturday night, the Rush and Eagles found themselves in another thriller at the sold out Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.  With another low-scoring affair heading into overtime, the Rush came out on top for the second straight game, this time 3-2.  With two goals, including the game-winner, Derek LeBlanc served as the hero while Danny Battochio stopped 23 shots for his 23rd win of the season.  The win not only ensures a playoff berth for the Rush, but it extends Rapid City’s lead in the Northern Conference to two points.

Rush Get Back Into Win Column with 4-1 Victory over Sundogs

(Rapid City, SD) – The Rush got back on track on Wednesday night with a 4-1 conquest over the Arizona Sundogs at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.  Brendan Cook led the way with his second four-point effort of the season, while Danny Battochio made 28 saves for his 21st win of the year.  The Sundogs had their league high five-game road win streak and a 13 one-goal game streak snapped with the loss.  The win allows the Rush to maintain their three point lead in the Northern Conference and also pushes the “magic number” in order to secure a playoff spot to four.

Rush Blanked for the First Time This Season in 5-0 Loss to IceRays

(Corpus Christi, TX) – On Saturday night, the Rapid City Rush were blanked 5-0 in the first and only meeting of the season with the Corpus Christi IceRays.  With the loss, the Rush have their season-long 12-game and point streak and 15-game road point streak snapped.  Despite the loss, the Rush remain in first place in the CHL’s Northern Conference.

Rush Continue To Pick Up Points, But Drop 5th Shootout of the Year

(Hidalgo, TX) – For the fifth time this season, the Rapid City Rush dropped a shootout, this time at the hands of the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.  In the first and only meeting of the season between the two teams, the Rush earned at least a point for the 12th straight game and 15th consecutive road contest.  Derek LeBlanc extended his goal scoring streak to five games while Danny Battochio remains unbeaten in regulation on the road.

Rush Knock Jackalopes from Perch, Take Over #1 Spot on Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll

(Tempe, Arizona) – It took more than four months and more than 350 league games but finally a team other than the Odessa Jackalopes has been voted the #1 team on the Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll and that team is the Northern Conference leading Rapid City Rush.  In what was the closest poll of the 2009-10 season, the Rush earned one more point than the Jackalopes and two more first place votes coming just days after beating the Jackalopes this past weekend in back-to-back games.  Odessa has been voted the best all year long earning the #1 spot in each of the first seven polls of the season.  The Rush are a league-best 17-2-3 since Christmas and currently have a four-point lead over the #3 team in the poll, the Colorado Eagles, for first place in the North.  The expansion Allen Americans remain the #4 team sitting just one point behind the Eagles in the most recent poll.

Rush Top Eagles 1-0 Behind 1st Career Shutout by Danny Battochio

(Rapid City, SD) – On Tuesday night, the Rush avenged their Valentine’s Day shootout loss to the Colorado Eagles with the first shutout victory of the season, 1-0.  Rookie goaltender Danny Battochio made 36 saves for his first career shutout while Derek LeBlanc scored the game-winner just 42 seconds into overtime.  The last time the Eagles were shutout was over a year ago, back on November 29th, 2008 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, the 4-0 home opener for the Rush.  With the win, the Rush regain the point lost in Sunday’s contest, and now have a four point cushion in the Northern Conference standings.

Rush Players Shave Heads to Support Fight Against Cancer

(Rapid City, SD) – The Rapid City community is invited to the Civic Center Ice Arena today at 1pm to be a part of the fight against cancer.  Rush players and staff will shave their heads in support of the fight against cancer after the generous donations at “Pink at the Rink Night”.  On Friday night, Rush fans met the goal of $10,000 raised during the Rush v. Jackalopes game and now five players along with staff will shave their heads.  Scott Wray, Jon Pelle, Colt King and Kirk Medernach will all shave their heads, while captain Luke Fritshaw will be in attendance.  Fritshaw shaved his head directly after Rapid City’s 7-5 win over Odessa.
