RUSH BLANKED 4-0 BY RIVER KINGS

(Southaven, MS) – The Rapid City Rush were looking to get back into the win column and trying to turn their road trip around as they took on the Mississippi River Kings for the third and final time this season. The game was an even battle until four third period goals lifted the River Kings to victory, 4-0. For the Rush, this is the third time this season that they have been shutout and the second time on the current road trip.

(Rapid City, SD) – Rapid City Rush announced earlier today plans for the Rushettes to host a Junior Rushettes Dance Camp Saturday, February 21, 2009. The camp will be available for children ages 6 through 14 and will be held at the Saint Thomas More High School gym from 10 am to 3 pm.

(Wichita, KS) – Rapid City looked to remain perfect at the Kansas Coliseum on Friday night, but the Wichita Thunder had other plans as they topped the Rush 3-1. The Rush peppered the net with over 40 shots but were still held to only one goal scored.

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Rapid City’s Jon Pelle has been voted the CHL Performance of the Week for his late-game effort on January 9th in a 4-3 victory over Wichita.

(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush hosted the New Mexico Scorpions in the second game of the weekend’s doubleheader. The night before saw the Rush explode for 6 goals. Unfortunately, Rapid City couldn’t repeat from the night before as New Mexico came out on top, 3-2.

(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush and the New Mexico Scorpions kicked off the first night of their weekend doubleheader at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Ice Arena on Friday night. This was the first meeting between the two teams, and Rapid City came away with the win, 6-4.

(Rapid City, SD) – The Black Hills Children’s Home has an exciting day planned tomorrow with members of the Rapid City Rush. Rush players Jamie VanderVeeken, R.G. Flath, Paul Kelly and Brady Olsen along with Nugget will be eating lunch at the Black Hills Children’s Home and then spending the afternoon playing soccer with the kids.

(Rapid City, SD) – The Rapid City Rush would like to invite fans out to Boston’s tonight at 7pm to watch the 2009 Central Hockey League All-Star Game. Rapid City’s own Rich Hansen will be starting for the All-Stars this evening at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado. For Hansen, this is his second All-Star appearance and first as a starter.
