Rush Season Comes to a Close with 5-1 Loss in Game 6

(Rapid City, SD) – The Missouri Mavericks were too much for the Rapid City Rush on Wednesday night, earning a 5-1 win to secure the series victory 4-2, ending Rapid City’s season. The Rush’s lone goal came from all-time leading scorer, Scott Wray who also led the Rush in both goals and points during the playoff run. This marks the second-straight season that the Rush have been eliminated in game 6 of the opening round, having lost to the Fort Wayne Komets last year.

(Rapid City, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League and Missouri Mavericks, have announced the postponement of Game 6 of the Ray Miron Presidents’ Cup Opening Round series. A spring blizzard has brought treacherous road conditions, high winds, freezing temperatures and snow accumulations to the Black Hills, which has pushed each game back one day. Game 6 will now take place on Wednesday, April 10th, and a potential Game 7 will take place on Thursday, April 11th. Both games will face-off at 6:35 PM MT at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, and tickets are available at gotmine.com or 716-7825.

Third Period Dooms Rapid City as Mavericks Push Rush to the Brink

(Independence, MO) – Leading 2-1 with thirteen minutes remaining in regulation, the Rapid City Rush gave up four unanswered goals to the Missouri Mavericks in a 5-2 loss at the Independence Events Center on Saturday night. The Rush now trail the best-of-seven series 3-2 and will need a victory on Tuesday at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center if they are to force a game #7 and extend their season.
