Sales & Marketing and Game Operations Interns

Where: Rapid City Rush Professional Hockey

Rapid City’s newest professional sports team, The Rapid City Rush, is offering multiple internships within our Sales and Marketing Department and our Game Night Operations Department. The ideal candidate(s) will be a college undergraduate who are comfortable interacting with the public, hard working, motivated and willing to commit to creating a professional, world class environment in Rapid City. Duties will include, but are not limited to, assisting in the creation and production of marketing plans, assisting in all in-game and on-ice promotions, assisting with game day arena set up, mascot promotions, special events, parties, and other team related functions.

Game Night Interns
  • Flexible schedule and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • MUST work ALL 32 home games at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center from a few hours before to at least 30 minutes after the game
  • Reliable transportation
  • Enjoy working with the public
  • Positive attitude
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • A knowledge of or desire to work in hockey, marketing or sports entertainment
Corporate Sales Interns
  • Assist Corporate Sales in assembling media kits and sales proposals for client presentations
  • Assemble leads for sales staff based on demographics
  • Work with Sponsorship Coordinators on various tasks including but not limited to preparation of materials for distribution to clients, organization of supplies, sending/receiving of event materials, delivery of client related materials, billing, filing, data entry and more
  • Set-up out of office meetings with possible clients
  • Reports to Director of Corporate Sales
Season Ticket/Group Ticket Sales Interns
  • Support season and group sales efforts
  • Maintain sales related spreadsheets, statistical data, and Rush lead development databases
  • Contact companies and individuals via phone and email
  • Data entry and office administration
  • Reports to individual account executives and the Director of Ticket Operations
Graphic Design & Web Programming Interns
  • Support marketing & public relations in creating attractive layouts for use in various media including billboards, print, web, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and/or Quark Xpress
  • Expertise in Flash and knowledge/experience with Action Script
  • Flexible schedule and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to meet deadlines and accept constructive criticism
  • Reports to Marketing/Public Relations Director
